BBC Films

BBC Films is the feature film-making arm of the BBC. It is firmly established at the forefront of British independent film-making and co-produces approximately eight films a year.

Working in partnership with major international and UK distributors, including Miramax, PolyGram, Fox, Buena Vista, Pathé and UIP, BBC Films aims to make strong British films with range and ambition and is committed to finding and developing new talent, as well as collaborating with some of the foremost writers and directors in the industry, including Roger Michell and Stephen Frears.

As well as cinema features, BBC Films has been responsible for some of the most groundbreaking and acclaimed BBC television dramas in recent years, working with award-winning writer-directors such as Stephen Poliakoff, Dominic Savage and Francesca Joseph.

Pathé

Pathé has a major presence within the UK film industry, operating as a fully integrated studio. It is involved in all aspects of film-making, from development and production through to international sales and distribution.

Skillset

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries (broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo imaging). Jointly funded by industry and government, our job is to make sure that the UK audio visual industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, so that our industries remain competitive.

Skillset's work within the film industry is guided by "A Bigger Future" - a £50 million, 5 year strategic plan for delivering industry relevant skills in the UK film industry - funded by the National Lottery through the UK Film Council, contributions made to the Skills Investment Fund (SIF) from feature films, and additionally-levered sources of finance. In order to attract and retain the brightest and the best filmmakers, Skillset aims to ensure that they are able to receive the highest quality and most relevant training available - through initiatives ranging from the creation of the Screen Academy network to training bursaries, mentoring schemes and the development of training programmes, By building upon our key strengths, a highly skilled workforce, we have an opportunity to truly transform our industry into one which can really compete in the global marketplace.

The UK Film Council is the lead agency for film in the UK ensuring that the economic, cultural and educational aspects of film are effectively represented at home and abroad. We invest Government grant-in-aid and Lottery money in film development and production; skills development; international development and export promotion; distribution and exhibition; and education. Variety

Variety is the authoritative source of entertainment business news for industry professionals and media journalists around the world. Founded in New York in 1905, Variety has had offices operating in London since 1906, first covering the worlds of live theatre, circuses and music and over the decades broadening their international coverage to include all of the emerging forms of entertainment, including film, radio, television and the still-evolving world of digital content. In 1933 Variety launched Daily Variety in Hollywood and Daily Variety Gotham was added in 1998. A year later Variety.com was established.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (UK) is the Walt Disney Company's film distribution arm in the UK and Ireland. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (UK) is responsible for developing and implementing the marketing and distribution strategies for the launch of Walt Disney animated product, Walt Disney Studios live action product, Miramax, Pixar and Touchstone product and selected acquisitions.
